Daily Route Optimization
May 16th, 2016
Knowing the correct order to go to your jobs in a day can be difficult to calculate. You have all these unscheduled jobs that need to get done in a day, but you don’t want to waste time traveling between them all.
Compound the problem by having to do this for not just yourself, but for your team. Can also never forget about traffic or any other reason that could make you late and your clients upset.
Optimize Your Route
Being able to quickly go from one visit to the next in the fastest time possible helps with all of the above. But it’s also important to be able to know the correct place to start your day. Either from the shop, the office or going directly to your first job. It may not always be the same, so you will want to start the route from different places for different days.
This is why we recently released our Daily Route Optimization feature for the Map view calendar.
In the calendar view under “Map”, select a starting visit and click on it. You will see the “Route from here” option at the bottom of the pop-up screen. Click on this and watch as Jobber figures out the optimized route of unscheduled visits for that team member.
How Do I Use It?
It’s simple! In the calendar view under “Map”, select your starting visit and click on it. You will see the “Route from here” option at the bottom of the pop-up screen. Click on this and watch as Jobber figures out the optimized route for that team member.
You still can move around visits to customize your route, but Jobber does most of the optimization work for you!
Note: In order to use this feature your visit has to be assigned to a team member and it cannot have a visit time associated with it. Scheduled visit times conflict with the optimization logic as you would have to be there at a certain time.
Jobber will only optimize visits that are scheduled to be any time that day.
