Brother-sister duo Jason and Julia Frey own and run Furnace Pros Niagara, a six-person company that installs, repairs, and maintains residential heating and cooling equipment.

Having the technical knowledge and training to work in HVAC, Jason Frey saw an opportunity and started his company, Furnace Pros Niagara, in 2013. Their plan for the company includes growing their operation from two trucks to five and purchasing a corporate property of their own to be used as an office and garage. They hope to one day dominate the region’s HVAC industry, and even expand into the USA using their dual-citizen advantage.

According to Julia, the most important aspect of their service is fast response times. Julia never misses a call because she knows the first business that answers the call will get the job.
“Clients are coming from such a place of high pressure, because one of their most basic needs has stopped working, and so they’re trying to get it booked as fast as possible. That is a very crucial phase in our workflow.”
In order to answer those calls in time, Julia uses Jobber. Thanks to live GPS tracking, she knows where their two trucks are booked for the day and can make adjustments in emergency situations.

“I get so many people who are like, ‘Hey, I found you on Google and your reviews are amazing.’ There’s that initial trust where we can get into their home because of our Google reviews.”
Another aspect of their service strategy is providing free service calls. While many companies think it’s a waste of time and would rather charge for the initial assessment, Julia says making free calls has helped them land revenue 95% of the time.
“If you could get a company to come in to just look at your furnace for free, or pay $100.00, what are you going to pick?”
Free assessments have led to an increase in the number of clients they see, but it’s nothing they can’t handle, since they book and track their jobs more easily with Jobber.
