Guidance on essential businesses (latest version: March 28, 2020): The Department of Homeland Security has issued guidance on what constitutes “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers.” Please note that this list is advisory only. Contact your local government for official guidance in your region.

Are cleaning services essential?
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) has identified janitorial and cleaning services as “essential critical infrastructure workforce” during COVID-19, according to the most recent Memorandum on Identification of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers (refer to the section on Hygiene Products and Services).
However, CISA’s list is advisory only. State and local authorities still have jurisdiction in their areas over which services can still operate during a lockdown or ‘shelter in place’ order.
If you are unsure if cleaning services are essential in your local area, contact your local governor as soon as possible.

COVID-19 Response Resources from ASHRAE: ASHRAE has developed and pulled together resources to address COVID-19 concerns with respect to the operation and maintenance of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems.
Coronavirus Prompts Response in HVAC Industry: The ACHR News magazine provides an overview of HVAC-related COVID-19 concerns, and advice on how to effectively handle customer calls and concerns in relation to COVID-19.

State by State COVID-19 Guidance: Updates on current “lockdown” or “shelter in place” orders that have been issued by State and Local Governments, as well as guidance on which states consider lawn care and landscaping an “essential service.”
